Yes, well, it's the Telegraph. And note the coloration in the article "Berlusconi's Italy becoming fascist" (I paraprase). The local comunes were given the right to make bylaws: a sort of English Liberal ideal - and some of them made bylaws which are a bit silly. Though, banning kissing in a moving car doesn't seem so daft to me, (as someone who has had to point out to an amorous passenger that squeezing my right (accelerator) knee isn't too clever an idea)..and I dunno about the stray cats (though stray cats in Rome have a lot more rights than stray Romanians) but banning feeding skyrats - pigeons, not Ryanair - gets my vote every time.

Anyway, Berlusconi doesn't seem to be long for this world (politically) and it'll be really funny to see the Telegraph badmouthng Fini.

Surely, only in Italy would they have a detection system capable of measuring the number of lighning strikes hitting the country?

Anyway, I only know this because yesterday (29th July) there were 25,000 strikes - according to the lighterweight media (who are trying to distract the populace from some rather messy politics) this is some sort of record!

This is the place to read about detection of fulmini and measuring how many of them there are.

No smoking in the workplace

Only in Italy would they be this considerate! Doesn't it rather remind you of an "illegal toilet"?

I don't think smoking was an issue in Sarzana castle in the UG, Lax

The walls are somewhat discoloured where they had a garderobe
